It was a sunny and warm day in December. I wanted to try on "Cero" with my grey coat. Whenever I create a new design, I actually like to wear it for a full day. Because, this helps me to understand what the item's advantages and disadvantages are. For example, let me tell you about Cero.
It's very light even though the pendant's size is about 2.5 inches. The main material, Velcro, attaches to specific fabrics like wool. So if you wear a wool sweater or scarf, you need to be aware of this when wearing it. (Cotton t-shirt is ok.) But sometimes, this characteristic of Velcro turns out to be useful. For example, I like attaching the pendant on my clothing intentionally because it helps to keep them from moving when I am physically active.

Isn't it funny how everything has advantages and disadvantages?

Mocha in December

Would you like some coffee? It's been so cold in Providence.

Grande two pump vanilla soy decaf Latte is Mariana's favorite. Is this the right order, Mariana? I mostly drink Americano so it is hard to remember when someone has a big preference.. : )

This time, Mariana is enjoying her mocha because it's winter! We need some chocolate. And she is wearing Mara with ring. The ring was customized for her. It's a different color arrangement than the one shown on the store. I'd like to make unique things for individual people.
Thanks Mariana~

Philly Cream

Joo Hyun is wearing Mara with long post. This piece was customized for her. It's a little longer and bigger than the one shown on the website. It's nice to see it with her peach cream vest. Thanks Joo Hyun!

Dancing Lauren

These are shots from my friend, Lauren.
She is wearing my "Mara with short post". I like the color combination with her navy colored glasses frame and purple cardigan. Thanks Lauren!

Google Checkout - The Making of Sublime (Part 3)

I am using "Google Checkout" for my online payment processing services provided by Google. I wanted to write about how I ended up with Google Checkout.

When it comes to building an online store, the payment method is the biggest issue. Credit cards are currently the most popular and the easiest means of paying for online products. This means merchants somehow need to set up the online check out system.

Back in 2004, I had an opportunity to design and build an online store for a car-parts company. Since I was not a software programmer, the company had to buy a shopping cart software to build the online store. So the program allowed the customer to gather multiple items and to adjust quantities and etc. I think the shopping cart software programs are still necessary to use for a big company.

But what about me? I am not a big company and I can't afford to buy the software. I am a person who just wanted to sell small quantities of my hand-made pieces by myself.

So I was looking around many Websites that I can sell my stuffs such as eBay, Etsy, and Amazon, etc. There were so many many many Websites that I can join. It seemed easy to just upload your images and use their check out system. I felt lucky enough to live in this tremendous Internet technology era.

But at the same time, using other's Websites have a few limitations. I can't design my store. I can't upload more than 4 images in general. I don't have any access to control. I still need to pay the transaction fees by using their Website. Moreover, there were so many items already on their Websites. It was so hard to find the cool things when I was surfing around as a customer. The only way to see the cool things was referred from a design blog, or friends.

I realized that just uploading my work to sell is not going to work. I need to advertise my stuffs anyway.

During the research, I found out about the news of Google Checkout. It looked complicated at first because I am not a big computer person. But I thought nothing to lose to try it out.It was a quite challenging time to build my online store. After a few weeks, I finally made it. I was happy that I was able to design and build a creative online store.
It's been a very great tool to manage my online store. For the customer, it's been an easy way to purchase an item by using their credit card. Also their credit card information is safe from the hackers because Google manages the whole system. For me, Google Checkout offers fraud protection, as well a unified page for tracking purchases and their status.

It's so nice to have Google around.

How to adjust the length

I want to introduce how to adjust the length for the Sublime Versatility collection. The product in this video is named Sam(Mixed).

I combined two products for making "Sam(Mixed)". I used "Hanah" which is a basic bracelet. And then I combined it with "Duel" which is a basic necklace.

So if you have "Sam", you can enjoy this freedom to play with the length. You can wear "Duel" alone or "Hanah" alone, or you can combine them to wear them as one long necklace, "Sam".

Sam(mixed)= Hanah + Duel
