New design - Cero with short post

The name of this piece is "Cero with Short Post".
Cero in Korean, means "vertical". This version of Cero takes on the function of a pair of earrings, hence the addition of "with Short Post" to the "Cero" name. It is made of Velcro and Sterling Silver, and measures about 2 inch in length.

I first thought of the design for Cero in March 2009. At the time, I had recently exhibited a large brooch (like the one shown here http://yongjookim.com/2009/ ). I immediately thought of taking a unit from that piece to create something smaller in scale. So I designed Cero necklace. (like the one shown here http://getsublime.com/sp2010/#possibility )

After Cero necklace, I designed this pair of earrings. This pair of earrings is the first product, "Cero with short post". I didn't even upload the earrings on my online shop. I am very curious what people think of this piece, and what kind of experience can come from it.

I recently opened a shop on Etsy.com and I also uploaded this item on Etsy. If you would like to see the limited new item number #1, Check it out!

Downtown

It was a sunny and warm day in December. I wanted to try on "Cero" with my grey coat. Whenever I create a new design, I actually like to wear it for a full day. Because, this helps me to understand what the item's advantages and disadvantages are. For example, let me tell you about Cero.
It's very light even though the pendant's size is about 2.5 inches. The main material, Velcro, attaches to specific fabrics like wool. So if you wear a wool sweater or scarf, you need to be aware of this when wearing it. (Cotton t-shirt is ok.) But sometimes, this characteristic of Velcro turns out to be useful. For example, I like attaching the pendant on my clothing intentionally because it helps to keep them from moving when I am physically active.

Isn't it funny how everything has advantages and disadvantages?
